AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

BBA, this unique design meets the new demands placed on business professionals by the global markets. The Management Program at MES believes that business education is not collection of topics, but a framework that facilitates integrated approach to develop strategic visions and decisions tools; that translate into a systematic application of a few sensible rules and themes to maximize the value of the firm and that encourages students initiative and commitment to take appropriate action based upon the analysis of business situations. BBA program is highly intensive and integrated approach. It emphasizes the diversity in culture, quality of leadership, challenges of decision-making and motivation, significance of work place relationships, effective communication competencies quantitative business analysis, the challenges of entrepreneurship, the buoyancy of national and international economics, personality and skills development etc., are some of the aspects that the students get grounded at MES.

The students of BBA, get the most challenging and path-breaking projects for their internship and academic project works. Apart from that, seminars, workshops, group discussions, interactions, guest talk, company and industrial visits are conducted in the institute so that the students can get to interact with the best minds in corporate and industry.

BACHELOR OF DEGREE IN ARTS, COMMERCE & SCIENCE:

The main aim and objectives of higher education in quality enhancement and sustenance drive realize its ultimate objective. The realm of higher education is the cradle of ideas: The shrinking or extinction of this realm necessarily makes a society parasitic on others for ideas. The college recognises students as the prime stakeholder of quality higher education. The college strives to play the role of catalyst in synergizing the efforts of all stakeholders namely, the Government, the teachers the parents, the society and the students. Our effort is to promote participation of students at all levels in the teaching learning process including prospective and current events with necessary knowledge, information, culture, career guidance, personality and skill development and tools related to quality assurance in higher education.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME

Three academic years (Six Semesters) as prescribed by Kuvempu University.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

Minimum qualification for admission to the Bachelor Degree of all courses must have passed in any of the following examinations i.e., puc/pdc/10 to 2 (Arts, Science & Commerce) or its equivalent examination of any other approved board or council.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Application for the admission must be made in the prescribed form available in the college office.
Incomplete applications will not be entertained
Students belonging to SC/ST/Cat I and others claiming reservation under any category should attach a copy of the caste certificate.
The duly completed application form should be submitted in two set of photo copies along with the original documents.
During the admission, the applicant should produce the following original documents/certificates
A) P.U.C. or equivalent Marks card.
B) Transfer Certificate (TC) from the college last attended.
C) Conduct Certificate.
D) Income/Caste Certificate.
E) Migration/Eligibility Certificate from the University for candidate coming from other states or other universities.
F) 10th Marks card (Xerox)
G) Four Passport size and two stamp size photos.

EXAMINATION

There will be Semester Examinations at the end of the October and second week of April besides the two Compulsory tests for internal assessment marks for all group of degree students.
A candidate who does not satisfy the requirements of 75% attendance in each subject and who does not record satisfactory progress and good conduct will not be permitted to appear for the semesters as well as internal assessment examinations.
A candidate who has less than 75% attendance in each subject shall have to repeat the whole semester and such candidate shall not be permitted to take admission to the next semester.

ELIGIBILITY FOR PASSING

For a pass in subject, a candidate shall secure a minimum of 35% of marks excluding internal assessments in each of the theory/practical examination and the candidate should score a minimum of 40% of the marks in aggregate in each semester including internal assessment/skill development and via-voce.

PROMOTION TO NEXT HIGHER SEMESTER

A student admitted to I semester course shall be promoted to the III Semester only after her passing a minimum of 40% of the papers of I & II Semester put together for admission to the v Semester of the course, a student has to pass 40% of the papers of I,II,III & IV Semester put together.

AWARD OF DEGREE

The degree of “ Bachelor of Business Administration ” or “ Bachelor of Arts ” or “ Bachelor of Science” or “ Bachelor of Commerce ”(BBA/BA/BSC/BCOM) shall be awarded to the candidates who have passed in all the examination from I & VI Semesters. However, the class of the degree shall also be awarded based on the performance of the candidate from I to VI Semesters examinations taken together, on the basis of marks obtained in first attempt.

A candidate who secures 70% and above marks in aggregate and passes in all the subjects of I to VI Semester shall be declared to be eligible for B.B.A./B.A/B.Sc./B.Com. degree in first class with distinctions.

A candidate who secure 60% of marks and above but less than 70% of marks in aggregate and passes in all the subjects of I and VI Semester shall be declared to be eligible for B.B.A., B.Sc., B.A., B.Com., degree in first class.

A candidate who secures 60% of marks and above but less than 70% of marks in aggregate and passes in all the subjects of I and VI semester shall be declared to be eligible for B.B.A., B.Sc., B.A., B.Com., degree in first class.

A candidate who secures less than 60% of marks but more than 50% of marks in aggregate and passes in all the subjects from I and VI Semester shall be declared to be eligible for B.B.A., B.Sc., B.A., B.Com., degree in Second Class.
